ECO BLUE: The Golden Solution for Water Color Development and Effective Control of Vibrio spp. in Shrimp Ponds

(My Binh) – Based on field surveys conducted at high-tech shrimp farms in Ca Mau, the probiotic product ECO BLUE has demonstrated outstanding effectiveness in stabilizing water color and suppressing Vibrio density to a minimal level, thereby helping shrimp grow healthier and stronger.

1. Field Results: ECO BLUE stabilizes tea-brown water color (diatoms)

The “tea-brown” water color is considered the gold standard in shrimp farming because it indicates the dominance of diatoms (silica algae) – the best natural food source for shrimp.

Comparative data at Farm 10 (Distributor Quach Hoang Dung – Ca Mau):

  • Control pond – Pond 2 (using ECO BLUE): The water maintained a characteristic tea-brown color, with extremely stable water color throughout the culture period.
  • Ponds without ECO BLUE – 1 & 3 Pond: The water frequently turned dark green (harmful algae) or fluctuated in color, creating higher risks for shrimp.

At 5 Farm (pond volume: 750 m³) of Agent Quach Hoang Dung in Ca Mau (formerly Gia Rai – Bac Lieu), ECO BLUE is applied at a dosage of 250 g per application, with a frequency of once every 3 days at 7:00 PM.

12 Farm of Dealer Quach Hoang Dung in Ca Mau (formerly Gia Rai – Bac Lieu) uses ECO BLUE at a dosage of 250g per 1,000m³, applied daily at 9:00 AM.

Conclusion:

The evaluation of water color from two shrimp farms (5 Farm and 12 Farm), including a total of six whiteleg shrimp ponds using ECO BLUE probiotics, showed consistent results in terms of water color:

  • All ponds developed a similar tea-brown color and maintained this stable tea-yellow color throughout the entire culture period.
  • The tea-yellow water color indicates healthy growth of diatoms (silica algae), which serve as a natural food source for shrimp, helping farmers reduce feed costs.

Maintaining stable water color with ECO BLUE not only helps reduce shrimp stress but also enables farmers to significantly cut costs on feed and water treatment chemicals.

2. Strong Vibrio.sp Inhibition Capacity

Vibrio bacteria are the primary pathogens responsible for serious diseases such as White Feces Syndrome and Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND). Laboratory results on bacterial density in culture ponds have shown a remarkable difference:

At 10 Farm (53-day-old shrimp), ponds using ECO BLUE consistently maintained bacterial counts at a safe level (below 320 CFU/ml). Meanwhile, ponds without ECO BLUE recorded sharply higher bacterial densities, reaching up to 480 CFU/ml.

Comparison of Vibrio spp. density between farms using ECO BLUE intermittently and farms using ECO BLUE continuously on a daily basis. The farm belongs to dealer Quach Hoang Dung in Ca Mau (formerly Gia Rai – Bac Lieu).

Figure 5: The chart shows the bacterial density between the farm using ECO BLUE continuously (12 Farm) and the farm using it non-continuously (5 Farm)

The density of Vibrio sp. bacteria was isolated on TCBS medium and calculated as colony-forming units (CFU/ml).

Farm 5: Using ECO BLUE every 3 days showed a higher level of harmful Vibrio sp. compared to the farm applying probiotics daily; however, the Vibrio sp. density in the pond remained within a safe range for shrimp growth and development.

Farm 12: Continuous daily application of ECO BLUE resulted in very low Vibrio sp. density in the pond, with the highest level reaching only 110 CFU/ml.

➡️ Recommendation: Farmers are advised to apply probiotics daily to achieve the highest and most optimal efficiency in stabilizing water color, suppressing harmful bacteria, and establishing beneficial microbial communities in the pond. This helps improve shrimp immunity, reduce pathogens, and increase productivity and profitability after each culture cycle.

3. Why is ECO BLUE the top choice for lined ponds and earthen ponds?

ECO BLUE by My Binh is specially designed to solve the most challenging problems in intensive shrimp farming:

✅ Rapidly decomposes sludge and black organic sediments at the pond bottom within 3 days of application.
✅ Eliminates foul odors from the water and pond bottom within 1 day of use.
✅ Improves pond bottom structure, making it firmer and more compact, reducing the need for sludge removal or dredging after each crop.
✅ Decomposes straw and rice stubble into organic fertilizer within 7 days of application.
✅ Purifies water and stabilizes the culture environment within 2–3 days of use.
✅ Inhibits coin fungus in the pond.

ECO BLUE is not just a water treatment product — it is a comprehensive solution for protecting shrimp health. Investing in high-quality probiotics from the beginning helps farmers reduce antibiotic costs and improve the success rate of each crop.
